BMW UK has announced that the fifth generation of M5 sports saloon will arrive in Britain this month and will sell for £73,040 on-the-road. The new model comes bearing BMW’s most powerful series production engine ever, a twin-turbo V8, which is 10% more powerful, but also 30% more efficient.
The 4.4-liter V8 provides 560 horsepower and 680 Nm of peak torque, and comes mated to a seven-speed double-clutch Drivelogic transmission with new comfort driving function. The sports saloon also has a new Active M differential for track-car dynamics when you want it.
We’ll remind you that the new F10 M5 will run to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.4 seconds. To reach 124 mph (200 km/h), the M5 needs about 13 seconds, though the electronic nanny will stop you from going over 155 mph (250 km/h), but the M-Drivers-Package brings the top speed to 189 mph (305km/h).
