Now that the 2015 model year of the Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster (R231) lineup has been upgraded via an entirely new base engine and some extra power for the SL 63 AMG, it is time to check out the new starting prices, with the UK being the first market to reveal them.
As you already know, the Mercedes-Benz SL 350 has already said its farewells and has been replaced by the all-new SL 400, which will offer more power, torque and a slightly lower fuel consumption.

Using a three-liter V6 with two-turbochargers – internally codenamed M276 DELA 30 – the new SL 400 develops a healthy 333 hp and 480 Nm (354 lb ft) of torque, which are more than enough to catapult the model from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.2 seconds.

Number geeks will undoubtably realize that the SL 400 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) 0.7 seconds faster than the recently-demised SL 350 model. With UK deliveries to start in July, the Mercedes-Benz SL 400 base model will be available from GBP 72,500 OTR.

At the other end of the scale, the SL 63 AMG disposes of the optional Performance Package but gets more power and more goodies in standard.

In short the MY 2015 Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG's M157 V8 now outputs 585 hp and 900 Nm (664 lb ft) of torque, with the model also getting an AMG rear axle limited-slip differential with up to 40 percent locking effect. The upgraded car will also start deliveries in July, with pricing to start at GBP 112,510 OTR.

The entire SL Roadster range for the UK now comprises the SL 400, SL 500 (starting at GBP 81,915), SL 63 AMG and SL 65 AMG (starting at GBP 170,815).
