Richard Pollock is the bright mind behind one of California's niftiest modding workshop, Mule Motorcycles. Renowned by transforming the bikes as much as possible, Pollock's magic resides in his awesome ability to make everything look like it's a factory job, and you're actually looking at original parts and all. And that's the case of the Moss Landing Assault Vehicle, one of his latest creations.
Based on a Yamaha XS650, the Mule Moss Landing Assault Vehicle has been utterly transformed into a flat-tracker screaming a somewhat vintage attitude. Commissioned by Fred Snyder, a surfer himself just as Pollock had been in his younger years, the Mule Moss Landing Assault Vehicle only retains the original engine casing and foot pegs, with the rest of the bike parts either custom made or dramatically modified from original ones or other bikes.
The initial XS650 engine was kitted to 750 specs, and the Mule Moss Landing Assault Vehicle received modded Kawasaki rims, a Honda CBR900RR fork clamped in Pollock's own design triple piece, a Bonneville headlight and Acewell multi-function instrument gauge.
Woods Racing steel handlebars and Brembo front brake master cylinder have been fitted, while the rear end of the Moss Landing Assault Vehicle is a Richard Pollock classic flat-track carbon fiber design. The dual-can silencer looks very sporty and a bit “Ducatesque” and we totally dig it.
