It's already December and the MotoGP teams are taking their well-earned rest, even though the engineers are still working hard behind closed doors. Here are some things which should help everyone understand better what's going on during the two months of "track peace."
So far we're doing this for the Moto3 and Moto3 classes, with MotoGP to follow soon. First of all, there will be no testing with riders and the bikes in their categories between the 1st of December and 31st of February.
Each team must name two circuits, a MotoGP one and a non-MotoGP one, where the riders will eb able to carry out tests almost any time through the season. The riders will only be able to test their personal machines on these circuits.
Another restriction applies, as the tests which will take place on MotoGP circuits will have to be at least 2 weeks ahead of the local Grand Prix. This means that a Moto2 rider can actually train aboard a Honda CBR wherever he chooses to, between February 1st and November 30th.
A rookie will also be able to take part in events on GP circuits in Europe or his own country, if any. You can check a provisional list of circuits team chose so far after the jump.
