Sit down and pay attention class, as today we have a very special visitor. Yes, it’s the king of expensive SUVs.
Mercedes Benz has finally put a face on the world’s most powerful production off-road vehicle, the G 65 AMG.
This beast has a maximum output of 612 horsepower and spins the wheels with 1000 newton meters of torque.
Thanks to this massive level of power, the G 65 AMG sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds compared to the 63′s 5.4, and tops 230 km/h (143 mph) whereas G 63 only manages 210 km/h (130 mph).
This desirable and collectable off-roader will set you back as much as a supercar - €264,180 in Germany.
But you can’t ignore the fact that it’s got retro cool looks, a luxury interior with a whole hoard's worth of cow hide and can probably tow your house.
The G 65 AMG gets the same body kit as the 63, except it’s also got a custom mesh grille, distinct 9.5 x 20 AMG five-spoke light alloy wheels, painted titanium grey with high-sheen finish, and the obvious Biturbo logo on the side.
