In case you were beginning to miss spy photos with the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG T-Modell (S205) – as the last images we showed you were taken back in the winter time – you will probably be glad to check out the adjacent ones.
As you can see, the amount of camouflage on this pre-production prototype is almost insignificant, with most of the AMG-specific design details being clearly visible.
We are of course talking about the all-new front bumper, which includes the trademark “A”, the much wider front end, single-blade engine grille, side skirts, rear bumper with an integrated diffuser and a set of quad exhaust tips.
We are not entirely sure, but recent spy videos with the regular C 63 AMG W205 seem to confirm the fact that despite being much more muffled down than the legendary M156, the new M177 engine will still output a V8-sound that is miles better than the two-stroke sound of the new BMW M3 and M4. Let's hope that the production version will sound miles better than the videos anyway.
Speaking of the M177, as some of you know, the new engine is a lower-spec variant of the M178, which will be seen in the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GT (C190), just like the M156 was a lower-spec variant of the M159 in the SLS AMG (C197).
With a displacement of four liters and two turbochargers that may or may not be twin-scroll like in the AMG GT, the all-new V8 is said to develop 476 hp and around 650 Nm (479 lb ft) of torque in standard guise, while the S-Model version would develop at least 510 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb ft) of torque.
As the C 63 AMG W205 is said to be launched at the 2015 edition of the Paris Motor Show, we are expecting the station wagon variant to arrive a few months later, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
