British fans of the three pointed star rejoice! Mercedes-Benz opened the order books for the all-new AMG GT coupe bruiser, with first United Kingdom deliveries slated to happen in April 2015. Mind you, the Mercedes sportscar isn’t cheap.
Mercedes-Benz UK announced that the entry-level Mercedes-AMG GT will start at a hefty £97,195, but this least costly variant of the breed will arrive very late next year. So if you want to be among the first to have one delivered, don’t go for the GT. To boot, the GT develops a little less power than the GT S at 462 German ponies and 600 Nm of torque.

If you do want it, you might also want to find out that the GT only gets a good ol’ mechanical limited slip differential, AMG sports suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels and an adjustable rear wing. As for the ever-important 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) run, the Mercedes-AMG GT will do it in 4 seconds thanks to its 4-liter twin-turbo V8.

Some Mercedes-AMG GT options worth mentioning include two non-metallic, four metallic and five designo paint choices, four wheel designs, 14 leather and five centre console color combinations and finishes, as well as two different styles of seats.

On the GT S however, the M178 mill is good for 510 horsepower and 650 Nm, which translates to a 3.8-second 0 to 62 mph acceleration. Besides the increase in grunt, there’s are some other notable differences between the GT and GT S. The GT S adds 20-inch rear wheels, red brake calipers clamping enlarged discs, electronically-controlled rear differential, as well as AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension, which can be hardened or softened through three distinct settings.

If the £110,495 GT S is not enough for you, then you might want the £122,745 Edition 1 limited-run model. This Merc brings greater visual presence thanks to a fixed rear wing and a deep front splitter extending up to the airdams. High-gloss silver and black wheels, a carbon roof, black mirrors and rear diffuser and black exhaust tips are offered too. Inside, the leather is beautified by red contrast stitching, while performance seats and a ‘Black Diamond’ textured center console complete the Edition 1.
