Max Biaggi Becomes a Father for the Second Time

Max Biaggi's time with Aprilia in the World Superbike Championship seems to do him well in his personal life also, as his second campaign with the Italian manufacturer coincided with the second year on a row when a child of his has been born.

According to reports in Italy, Leon Alexandre Biaggi was born yesterday at the Princess Grace Hospital in Monte Carlo. Yes, Biaggi names his second child Leon, just like two of his closest rivals in the WSBK, Leon Haslam and Leon Camier (the latter is actually a teammate of his in the Aprilia lineup).

Additionally, the reports revealed that both the newly born child, who apparently weighs 2.9 kg, and his mother Eleonora Pedron (former Miss Italy back in 2002) are doing fine. Leon is Biaggi's second child, after 15-month old daughter Ines Angelica.

Needless to say, 2010 has been a year Biaggi will unlikely forget anytime soon, especially with the birth of his second child. Until that point, he had just clinched his and Aprilia's first titles in the World Superbike Championship. Additionally, he signed an extension to his current deal with the Italian manufacturer, which will see him defend his crown on an Aprilia bike in 2011 and race onwards until the end of the 2012 campaign.

According to a recent interview given by the newly-crowned WSBK champion, his negotiations with Yamaha were sealed once his wife gave him the go ahead to sign the papers, which means family came first when deciding to extend his stay at Aprilia.
