Looking back to the E46 M3, we remember a time when Mercedes was still struggling to bring forth a proper competitor for BMW’s M3, a time when power wasn’t everything and the way the car made you feel was a lot more important.
The E46 model and its S54 engine are still regarded as a match made in heaven and enthusiasts all over the world are still drooling over it every time they spot one.
Some people though, go completely berserk and create racing monsters out of the little coupe, monsters capable of putting to shame even supercars, on a proper track.
One such example is the Matte Black M3 below. Initially starting out as a small project, the car eventually grew into a proper race track beast with an impressive mods list that goes a little something like this:
