I can’t stress how much I like the new format of the tests done by the guys from /DRIVE. The previous reviews signed by Chris Harris were a delight and the latest episode isn’t too bad at all.
The person in charge this time was Matt Farah, a man that knows a thing or two about cars and that isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. The car he was driving? A BMW M5.
Now, I get why a lot of people hate on the M5. It’s hard to lead the segment for so many years without creating a couple of enemies but looking at it completely objectively, this car is absolutely crazy.
The engine delivers so much power and torque through the brilliant 7-speed DCT gearbox that you won’t care how heavy it is. The space you get inside is unrivaled in its class and the similarly fast Porsche is nowhere close in this regard.
However, you have a couple of downsides too, the biggest one being the M6 Gran Coupe that is a more attractive car. Check out what Matt has to say.
