Massa Made His First Steps on Wednesday

While securing a replacement for Felipe Massa for the remainder of the 2009 season, Ferrari have received even more good news recently. According to a press release from the company's media site, the Brazilian made his first steps since his unfortunate accident in the Hungarian Grand Prix.

After speaking his first words on Tuesday afternoon, soon after he woke up from the induced coma, Massa's condition is constantly improving. According to the Ferrari report, the Brazilian driver is expected to leave intensive care soon and also move to another hospital in the next few days.

“The driver has had more exams carried out, confirming his continuing improvement. Felipe speaks, can sit upright and was even able to take his first steps. Today he will leave intensive care. From the clinical and radiological point of view everything is going extremely well,” said the statement.

“Felipe will stay at the AEK hospital for the next view days, until he can be taken somewhere else,” added the document.

It was also revealed that Ferrari's CEO Luca di Montezemolo made his second visit to the AEK hospital in Budapest to “greet Felipe personally also on behalf of the whole Company and the fans who continue sending best wishes via www.ferrari.com”

“In this occasion the Chairman has taken to Felipe the dedications and greetings signed by all employees of the Gestione Sportiva department, starting from Stefano Domenicali,” added the Ferrari statement.
