Marussia Debuts Production and Inaugurates Showroom

Let the champagne flow! A new supercar has come to the world. straight from mother Russia. Marussia Motors has debuted the production of the B1 and B2 supercars, with the company also inaugurating its first showroom in Moscow. This can be found at 17 Tverskaya Street, as RiaNovosti reports.

The story of the company dates back to 2008, when the first concept of the B1 was presented. However, the vehicle featured a hybrid powertrain at the time, which has been dropped meanwhile.

The Russian automotive producer decided to introduce a second model alongside the B1, with this using the B2 name. The first model comes with a more conventional design, while the latter uses a radical approach.

But don’t let the B2’s aggressive front fascia foul you, both models offer the same level of thrills and use the same engine. Actually, the company allows the customers to choose between three versions of a Cosworth 3.6 liter V6 powerplant. The entry level unit delivers 300 hp, being followed by 360 hp and 420 hp versions.

In today’s stratospheric power era, not even the range-topping powerplant of the Marussia manages to impress. However, we must consider that the Russian car tips the scales at only 1,100 kg (2,425), a detail that changes everything. Want a proof? The 0 to 62 mph adrenaline rush is dealt with in 3.2 seconds.

If you feel that this is the right supercar for you, be prepared to spend at least 100,000 euros.

Marussia Motors has big plans for the future, as it wants to reach an annual production volume of 10,000 units by 2014. The company will also release a third model, the F2 SUV, which is expected to arrive in spring next year.
