If you want to get your hands on a piece of Godfather-infused memorabilia, you'd better stay put for the June 27 auction at Julien's. You will be able to bid on a very special Harley that belonged to Marlon Brando.
Julien's Auctions' lot #791 comprises a 1969 Harley-Davidson FLH Electra-Glide, which was bought by Marlon Brando in 1970, and the papers that prove the change of ownership, as well. The Notice of Transfer was sent to the Sacramento DMV in California, by Harley-Davidson of Los Angeles, stating that Brando became the new owner of the bike on April 8, 1970.

Pre-auction expectations range between $200k and $400k

The FLH has 13,859 miles (22,299 km) on it, with the trip meter indicating 556. Unfortunately, Julien's Auctions is a tad too reserved for our taste, so little to no info about the state of the bike is offered.

Bidding on this Harley will start at $100,000 (€89,000), but the pre-auction estimates see the bike changing hands for anything between $200 and 400 grand (€178,000-356,000). Jerry Lee Lewis and Buddy Holly motorcycles have been auctioned previously for $385,000 (€342,000) and $450,000 (€400,000), so Marlon Brando's Electra Glide is also expected to fetch a good price.

"It still pleases me to be awake during the dark, early hours before morning when everyone else is still asleep. I've been that way since I first moved to New York. I do my best thinking and writing then. During those early years in New York, I often got on my motorcycle in the middle of the night and went for a ride-anyplace. There wasn't much crime in the city then, and if you owned a motorcycle, you left it outside your apartment and in the morning it was still there. It was wonderful on summer nights to cruise around the city at one, two, or three a.m. wearing jeans and a t-shirt with a girl on the seat behind me. If I didn't start out with one, I'd find one," Marlon Brando once declared when asked about what he thought about riding a motorbike.

If you can't make it to Beverly Hills, California on June 27th 2015, you should know you can still bid for the Marlon Brando 1969 Harley-Davidson FLH Electra Glide online or by phone.
