Believe it or not, Luxgen is not the name of a lightbulb company, but the name of a carmaker from Taiwan. The company’s name is supposed to be a combination of "Luxury" and "Genius”, though they haven’t really reinvented to wheel.
The company is only three years young, and they’ve just unveiled a new vehicle, the Luxgen 5 Sedan, developed in house and previewed as an EV concept in 2011. This sedan is the first they’ve offed with a 150 hp 1.8-liter petrol, as well as a 2-liter producing 180 hp.
The Chinese like toys in their car above else, and so they’ve fitted the 5 with Think+ and Eagle View, which are a night vision system and 360 degree view. In your face Mercedes S-Class!
Just kidding, but since we’re on the subject, how about a coupe version? Since Luxgen has only build 1 MPV, 1 SUV and 1 wagon, they should consider offering an attractive coupe in the future. This rendering is based on the sedan and uses the same wheelbase. But the doors have been elongated, resulting in a side profile that somewhat resembles the Accord Coupe.
