LoJack Recovers $1,000,000 + Child in One Week

Having your property quipped with LoJack's stolen vehicle recovery system appears to be working in favor of those who use it. The producer of the system announced it has managed, in only one week, to recover more than $1,000,000 worth of construction equipment and vehicles and a four-year-old child. LoJack also sent two car thieves in a one way trip to the police stations.

We are sure it's not the $1,000,000 in property which caught your eye, but the child who was recovered with the help of LoJack. As you might have guessed, the kid was not equipped per se with a stolen vehicle recovery system, but happened to be sitting in a car which caught a thief's eye.

It all went down in Granada Hills, in Southern California, where an oblivious parent left the child inside a running car, a Mazda SUV, while he/she (we're not sure, but we reckon it was the father) went about his/her business.

A quick-footed thief witnessed the scene and, without knowing about the four-year-old bonus sitting in the back seat, stole the car. The parent notified the Los Angeles Police Department's Devonshire Division, who in turn activated the LoJack system and silently tracked the car, the thief and the child until they caught up with them. Both the car and the child were recovered in one piece.

Besides the aforementioned happening, LoJack helped recover a Bobcat Skid-Steer, found in a rural lot in Northern Los Angeles County. Of course, the Bobcat is insignificant compared to the other 35 stolen vehicles and countless motor homes, utility vehicles, boats, recreational and construction trailers, tractors, generators, welders and other off-road vehicles found on the respective lot upon further investigation... In all, the items recovered from this one place are valued at more than $1,000,000.
