A large company will surely need a large fleet of vehicles to move around its employees, especially those in charge with sales or catching new contracts with clients. However, not just any car will do if you want your fleet to be as efficient as possible and not be leaking drain pipe for the company’s funds.
Fleet vehicles will turn the odometer to six figures in about two years, so reliability and small running costs are the priority in choosing the right make and model.

John Smith is a fleet manager at UK based company Cathedral Hygiene which provides washroom and workspace hygiene products for businesses, and he is responsible for running, maintenance and replacement of the firm’s car fleet.

Fleet that is currently composed of 44 Toyota Prii, one of the best cars you can get for the job, as John explains.

“Back in 2004, the company bought its first Prius as a conscious decision to become a greener fleet,” says Smith. “We tried some other hybrid models, and we’ll always consider and evaluate any new car on the market, but the Prius wins out for us thanks to its reliability and low running costs that outweigh any higher initial costs.”

The Prius is light and easy to operate while providing best fuel efficiency and running costs, also providing a stress-free experience for company drivers who need to cover a lot of miles.

Toyotas are also known for retaining their value, so even aver around 150,000 miles, they are working properly and can be further sold on the second-hand market, as Mr. Smith here further explains.

“We remarket our cars at four years old simply so they still have a value when they go to auction. This is another positive for the Prius as there is a ready market for used models even ones with high mileages, so the residual values are strong.”
