Lewis Hamilton's Father Becomes Advisor for Football Management Firm

Some of you might already be bored with the news suggesting constant links between the world of Formula One and the most popular sport in the Old Continent, football (European for soccer). But here comes another report that further builds on that relationship, as it suggests that two names linked with Formula One action are to have an active role in representing football players in the near future.

According to the GMM news agency, former grand prix driver Mark Blundell is thinking to expand his current business into the world of professional football. His company 2mb is currently involved in representing several drivers in different racing series worldwide, including names like former DTM champion Gary Paffett or IndyCar driver Mike Conway.

However, Blundell recently decided to represent football players as well, especially since he will now be joined by another F1 figure in his firm's new field of activity. The manager and father of former Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, Anthony, will become advisor for 2mb International Soccer Management in the months to come.

Apparently, Hamilton's father knows quite a lot of football and is ready to make the most of his extensive knowledge in that domain to help Blundell's business flourish. He will therefore make up for the loss of Martin Brundle at the helm of 2md, as the former Grand Prix racer initially founded the company alongside Blundell.

In January of 2009, Brundle decided to step down as co-owner of 2mb Sports Management in order to focus on his commentary commitments with Formula One's new broadcasters BBC. Brundle is currently teamed with former F1 driver David Coulthard and former F1 team boss Eddie Jordan in commentating F1 action for the fans in the UK.
