Japan has become a hipster nation, too busy developing Pokemon games to come up with a good phone. Its role in the tech world has clearly been taken over by the Koreans. And the beauty industry has followed the same trend, the car beauty industry that is.
For a good couple of years, we've been following the work of a South Korean company called exLED on Youtube. These guys specialize in making custom lighting configurations. While they sometimes play with German cars, their specialty is the local fauna of Kias, Hyundais, and Chevrolets.

We've seen all sorts of crazy stuff, from old Korean limos that want to look like the E-Class to the most modern SUVs. But this caught our attention.

In the rest of the world, the Kia Niro might go down as a footnote of the automotive industry, as it has neither the technology nor the styling to take on Toyota. However, over in the land of K-Pop, people seem to like it... a lot.

Below, you'll find videos of two different Niro models (we can tell because they're different colors) featuring unique LED taillight configurations. One of them replaces the six factory C-shaped elements with classier strips and the other changes the design to six ovals.

exLED also added a wave pattern to the indicators and the lights in the bumper. We don't see anything wrong with that, especially as premium Audi models have it too.

For the front, the Niro got daytime running lights with integrated turn signals. Again, this is something you usually see on the Audi A6 and other stuff like that.

For the record, the only thing they've made that we don't like is the extra-bright third light. Some people want that to draw attention, but it makes seeing out the back harder when you throw out the anchors.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
