Lanzi to Ride for DFX Ducati in 2010

The DFX Corse Team announced it has contracted Lorenzo Lanzi as the sole and full-time rider for the team in this year's World Superbike Championship. The Italian, however, is not in his first year with the team, as he also raced last season as a replacement for the injured Regis Laconi. The team will compete with two Ducati 1198 machines.

"The economic situation is very difficult for everyone at the moment but we as a team have worked very hard in order to be able to line up this season with not only an Italian bike but also an Italian rider, capable of achieving great results. Lorenzo Lanzi was the logical choice, as we had already seen him in action on our bike last year, and we are sure that with our support he will be able to fully demonstrate his talent,”
team manager Daniele Carli said in a release.

Having secured the chance to make a return to the series, Lanzi said he was keen to repay the faith shown in him by the team and admitted that it could be his final chance to impress on the World Superbike Championship stage.

"I am grateful to Daniele Carli and to the whole DFX Corse Team for making me a part of this project, as the team's sole rider in the 2010 World Superbike Championship,”
Lanzi said. “Last year I was only able to participate in a few races but I immediately understood and appreciated the team's professionalism. Having now signed up for a full season, I can approach the racing calmly and with huge enthusiasm."

“I am sure I still have something to show at an international level and on the DFX Corse Ducati 1098R I've got another chance, maybe the last one, to show what I am capable of. A big thanks to everyone who made this possible and now I leave for Australia fully motivated,"
added Lanzi.
