We all know how annoying tight parking spaces can be. Everything is going swell for you until that moment when you carelessly open the door and hit the car next to you or a pole you couldn't really see.
Thankfully, there are black plastic protectors you can put on the ends of your doors to stop them from being chipped, but the Koreans have found another solution. Tourists who are visiting the Asian country these days are coming back with reports of blue sponges stuck on cars everywhere.

The little blue sponges are actually the ones automakers put on the cars to protect them during transportation. Now normally, they would be taken off the car by the dealer before delivery, but people are requesting hey be kept on for protection.

After a while though, the blue sponges get a little dirty and need to be replaced. With people growing accustomed to seeing nothing but blue sponges there, some companies are offering aftermarket alternatives, like the wing-shaped ones we're showing you above.

We hear the trend is at least a couple of years old and has caught on in other countries in the region.
