It's Your Call: GM's CEO Should Drive a Prius for the Rest of His Life!

As most of you know by now, the guys over at General Motors are pretty proud of their Chevrolet Volt and, every time they have the occasion to praise it, they certainly do it. That's the case of CEO Dan Akerson as well, who recently said in a statement that the recently-crowned North American Car of the Year is actually an American symbol and poked fun at the one that seems to be the number one rival for it - Toyota Prius.

Akerson said in a statement in December 2010 that the Prius is nothing more than a "geek-mobile" so he "wouldn't be caught dead" in such a vehicle, emphasizing that the Volt looks pretty good as compared to the Japanese model.

As always, reactions and criticism emerged quickly, but we wanted to know your opinion so we asked, through our Weekly Poll section, what should be Akerson's punishment for his joke. 38 percent of our voters think that Akerson should drive a Prius for the rest of his life, while 32 percent of you believe that it would be better for the GM CEO to have the Prius name tattooed on his chest. Only 28 percent of the autoevolution users were a bit more tolerant and thought that Akerson should spend the Christmas surrounded by Prius gifts for his entire family.

This week, we're going in a different direction with our poll and we're curious to see your opinion on the 2011 North American International Auto Show that kicked off in Detroit last week.

So, if you had the time to pay the Detroit venue a trip, tell us what you think by voting in the adjacent poll. Is it worthwhile or not?
