There is no shortage of outlandish-looking supercars made in limited numbers by committed and passionate, plus somewhat unrealistic, enthusiasts. Thankfully there is also no shortage of automotive journalists out there who are willing to think of crazy metaphors in an effort to make the cars look even cooler. So here we go!

It’s called the Shayton Equilibrium and the first thing you should know about it is that it's not real yet... but it has a dedicated a Facebook page. Are you tired of Italian supercars? Is Germany’s answer just too serious? Well, we are pretty sure this is the first contender from Slovenia we have ever brought to your attention. The name Shayton means "falcon" in Sioux Indian, the feared birds of prey, that is also the company's logo.

The company’s press releases reveals that its Equilibrium will offer two impressive figures. One is the price tag, which is a bit steep at over €1,000,000 ($1.39 million), while the other is the power, as the wannabe comes with a V12 engine capable of producing 1,084 horsepower and 930 Nm of torque (686 lb-ft) at 5,000 rpm.

Only 20 will be made every year. If it ever makes it into production, the car will make extensive use of aluminum, carbon fiber and titanium, resulting in an overall weight of 1,200 kg (2,645 lbs) and a power-to-weight ratio of 1.42 kg/hp. Shayton reckons this is enough for a top speed of over 400 km/h (249 mph), a standard 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint time of 2.9 seconds and a 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) time of only 8.5 seconds. Now that’s fighting talk!

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
