If the military should regret something is losing the opportunity to remain the only ones to create the coolest drones on the planet. DJI’s latest drone dubbed Inspire 1 uses a propulsion similar to the tiltrotor aircraft, as it is able to transform its position in the air. Not only is it a leading-edge unmanned device, but it was developed with the latest technology in filming.
Its makers claim all of the latest aerial technology is packed into one simple, ready-to-fly system, putting you in the sky within minutes. Its aerodynamic transforming design allows the UAV to literally change the shape while still in the air. “Carbon fiber arms give you the strength to maneuver in the air and they transform, moving out of the camera’s way at the flick of a switch,” Inspire 1 is described.

Both the gimbal and the camera are allegedly the result of last-of-the-hour technology. Photos come in 12 megapixels quality and the video footage is captured in 4k at 24-30 fps or 1080p at 24-60fps. But all that quality view will not be wasted, as a real-time feed from the drone is displayed in 720p HD on the owners’ device giving him the perfect view of what the camera is taping. The connection is possible from up to 2km away.

Two remotes, stable flying indoors

In case you are really pretentious then you also have the optional feature to connect the second remote to the drone and separate driving the drone from moving the camera. Each user can have their own screen to see exactly what is being shot in real-time.

Still not convinced? What if we were to tell you this drone was also designed to safely function indoor without GPS using vision positioning system? In other words, you don’t have to be the best pilot out there, as DJ’s new Optical Flow technology uses a specially designed camera as well as sonic waves to bring simplicity to flying indoors. This technology allows the Inspire to hold its position, stop when the controls are released, and respond to your commands even when GPS is unavailable.

We listed the presentation video below, just in case you want to get a closer view of what this drone is capable of.
