Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the current president of Indonesia, is a man with a reputation for innovation in an effort to protect the environment. This is vital, as Indonesia (the 4th largest country in the world) is home to lush jungles and rainforests which harbor species of plants and animals found nowhere else in the world.
After summoning a meeting with Indonesian ministers and high-ranking government officials, in order to hear presentations made by heads of universities, as well as inventors and innovators, a conclusion has been reached, that the country, which is home to almost 240-million people, can in fact build its own “national electric car” - a very admirable intention in this day and age of (evil) corporatism.

According to The Jakarta Post, there were five Indonesians with experience in making EVs present at the meeting, one of which was actually developing an electric car which would be built using 40% local components, but argued that with more support, the percentage of locally manufactured components could rise to 80% or even 90%.

Following the meeting, President Yudhoyono was very pleased with the discussions, and announced that laws and regulations would be passed within the next 3 month, in order for Indonesia’s national car, dubbed the “mobnas” to become a reality.
