Indian Motorcycle announces the Project Scout: Build a Legend custom build-off competition, a contest aimed at putting to work the most creative resources Indian dealers can muster.
Why is this new custom competition so thrilling some might ask. Well, we are eagerly waiting to see what bikes make it into the finals, because this is an almost no-rules competition. That's right, there are no restrictions as to the overall cost of the final products, the theme or build style.

Basically, Project Scout is a freestyle custom bike competition, and these are always the most interesting ones. Only two rules apply: the builders must use an Indian Scout as the "donor bike" and the build must include three genuine Scout accessories. With more than 200 items currently in the Scout accessories catalog, there is plenty to choose from, regardless of what direction the dealers may think of following.

The creation and building speed are essential as the competition ends on January 8, 2016

The dealers that plan to enter the Project Scout: Build a Legend competition must act fast, as they only have a month or so to submit the photos of their creations.

The competition ends on January 8, 2016, and all the photos will be uploaded on a dedicated webpage on January 18. Until February 19, the public will vote their favorite bike, while on the next day, the three most voted builds will make it into the big final.

All three finalists will receive an all-expenses-paid weekend trip to the 75th annual Daytona Bike Week (from March 4 to March 14) for themselves and a guest. The Daytona Bike Week will also be the place where the grand winner will be announced. A panel of celebrity judges will select the winning bike at Daytona, but Indian is still secretive as to the honors the ultimate Project Scout: Build a Legend winner will receive.

Those attending the Dayton Bike Week will also be able to cast their vote for the "Fan Favourite Award." Stay tuned, as we'll be back with more on the Project Scout: Build a Legend soon.

We've already seen interesting takes on the Scout, such as the Black Hills Beast, so our expectations are as high as they get.
