Some idiots can't stand watching a rider squeezing by in slow or stuck traffic: some will just become angry, some would honk and swear, and the stupidest of them all will unleash the road rage, and most of the times the riders end up with crashed bikes and injured.
It's true that seeing a two-wheeler filtering through the traffic can be frustrating at times, but really, if they are slowly squeezing, it's only for the better: they will reach more easily to the front of the pack and clear out, leaving one free spot behind them.
We really see no point in blocking out the riders who split lanes, especially in extremely slow traffic. California has finally deemed lane splitting a "healthy" factor for busy traffic, provided splitting is done in a certain (safe) manner, and such law initiatives are springing up in more states.
Unfortunately, when it's stupid driver crashing his Kia into a Ducati Diavel, the Diavel doesn't stand a chance. Sigh...
