This thing is fit for a post-apocalyptic Hollywood blockbuster!
When it comes to creating some genuinely apocalyptic machines, Icon 1000’s moto experts are the real MVPs. As you browse their magnificent portfolio, you’ll find absolutely no shortage of rugged two-wheelers that’ll leave just about any self-respecting gearhead speechless. I’ll tell you what; let’s examine one such entity.

At its core, the beast we’ll be analyzing today was once a regular 1999 Ducati 900SS. In stock form, this mean piece of Italian machinery is brought to life by a belt-driven SOHC L-twin powerplant, with a gargantuan displacement of 904 cc and two desmodromic valves per cylinder head.

The air-cooled monstrosity is fully capable of producing up to 80 hp at 7,500 rpm, while a healthy torque output of 57 pound-feet (77 Nm) will be accomplished at around 6,500 revs. A six-speed transmission is tasked with feeding the engine’s unholy force to a chain final drive. All things considered, this whole ordeal enables the SuperSport to reach a top speed of no less than 143 mph (230 kph).

Before reaching Icon’s doorstep, the donor in question had been crashed by its previous owner. As such, the damaged bodywork was removed in its entirety, with the exception of the bike’s standard fuel tank. Since the 900SS’ subframe was also looking pretty rough, the team undertook the painstaking task of reshaping it to perfection. As soon as they were satisfied with the way this turned out, the workshop enveloped it in a stealthy black finish.

You will find a complete LED lighting package and a pair of ammunition crates attached to the revised subframe. The latter act as generous storage units, wearing the unmistakable first aid symbols on both sides. At the front end, Icon 1000 proceeded to install a tiny LED headlight module, flanked by an angular front fairing that brings about them Mad Max vibes.

One thing’s for sure; if Armageddon does break loose, this Ducati 900SS (dubbed “The Operator”) is my ride of choice!

What’s your take on Icon’s surreal venture?
