Hyundai is paying attention to the Chinese buyers’ needs (just like most carmakers, since China is now the world’s largest auto market) and the company is now preparing to make a new step to meet their expectations.
Hyundai is looking to introduce a model that would be more affordable than the current Sonata, but would still offer assets such as generous interior space and quality materials, so that the vehicle can represent a choice for middle-class customers who want to move up from their compact cars.

The future model is referred to as the “Sonata lite” by company insiders. The vehicle will be slotted between the Sonata and the smaller Elantra. As for the market launch schedule, the Sonata lite is expected to make its debut in the course of 2014.
