How to Ditch Your Monster... Mother-in-Law

Myth or real fact, wicked, evil, relentless mother-in-laws are the weapon of choice for buddies to scare the hell out of the soon-to-be grooms (the "scare" applies to brides too...). They have become the topic of millions of jokes, anecdotes, stories and even movies. Most of these creations have one thing in common: they teach you how to get rid of your mother-in-law.

A couple from Britain however managed to come up with something entirely new: ditch the monster in a long stay car park. Original, isn't it?

The couple in question, together with the mother of the woman, left Bootle in Merseyside and traveled some 300 miles to Dover, from where they were to board a ferry and travel to France, for a one day trip.

Thing is, three left for France and only two got there. The mother-in-law, aged 70, was conveniently forgot on the back seat of the car, in the aforementioned long stay car park. Ok, you might say, that can happen to anybody, what's the big deal?

The deal is that the couple realized they forgot the elderly woman in the car only when they reached the other side of the Channel! Once in France, the two called the police (actually, we think the wife did) and let them know what happened.

"They told us they had forgotten that their elderly mother was still in their car they had parked in the multistorey car park before their day trip," a police spokesman was quoted as saying by myjoyonline.com.

If you're thinking the experience will be easy to forget by the old woman because she was sleeping or something, you're mistaking. The woman was awake throughout the ordeal (about six hours, police reckon), but didn't make a big fuss about the incident. Until the couple got back to Dover, that is...

"She must have been there for at least six hours, but she didn't cause a fuss - she just stayed where she was and waited for them to return - and then she gave them hell," the police say.
