Presumably that you want to replace the worn out piston rings of a Toyota VVTi engine, you’ll need to know how to correctly put the new ones in place.
The hardest part is to reach the piston rings first, needing to drain the engine oil first, then removing the oil catch pan and the whole crankshaft with all the pistons. After that, all you need to know are these following things:

- First of all, if you don’t want to accidentally break a ring when trying to slot it in, you’ll need a piston ring tool
- Piston rings don’t usually have a face up or face down side so you can mount them on whatever side you want, but be careful to put the oil one at the bottom
- After slotting a new piston ring in, it will leave a small gap between its ends, so you will have to rotate the next ring until its gap is opposing the other. This way, pressure will be better contained in the combustion chamber
