German based high-performance aftermarket tuning company Brabus has revealed a new video to advertise their valve controlled exhaust system for the Mercedes A-Klass A250 model.
If you are not familiarized with what an exhaust bypass valve can do, let us give you some information. The bypass exhaust valve is basically a valve that gets welded inline with the car’s current exhaust setup, allowing the driver to let the exhaust gases flow on the normal circuit or dump them at some point without flowing through the muffler. That will make the car sound better (if it has a proper engine, so don’t put it on your mother’s Hyundai because it will sound like a lawnmower) and sometimes it will boost the engine’s power, as there will be less restriction for the gases and the engine will “breath” better.
While some of them are manually operated via a cable, others, like this one from Brabus, are electronically controlled and the valve’s opening can be adjusted depending on on your preference.
