Harley-Davidson introduces their 2014 Street Glide FLHX to the Indian market. The touring machine is part of the revised machinery line-up known by the name Project Rushmore, and will sports all the goodies bikes sold in other markets boast.
This means new, better brakes with the Reflex ABS system which offers electronically linked stopping power distribution, the high-output Twin Cam 103 engine, the upgraded Boom Box infotainment system and redesigned saddlebags with one-handed operation.
The Street Glide will however be imported as CBU (completely built unit) and given the import taxes the Indian government sets for bikes bigger than 800cc, things are a bit rough on the price tag side.
A 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide FLHX retails for Rs 29 lakh, ex-showroom in Delhi. This means 2.9 million Indian rupees, which translate to roughly $47,300 (€34,930), about double the US price. Not exactly a cheap bike even in the US, we're looking forward to see how will the Street Glide sell in the 11 Indian dealerships it will reach pretty soon.
