We genuinely live in dark times. Just take a really good look at the world and the state it's in. Despite governments around the world claiming to promote greener motoring, do you really see that happening? No, you don't and the electric car could gain a lot more ground with more than just this ‘apparent’ governmental support, as currently it's still held back by oil and greed.
Whenever you hear of “Think Tanks”, expect whatever is being discussed there to somehow affect you negatively at some point in your life, if the idea debated at any given “think tank” meeting (or whatever they have) gets the green light. Apparently, a ‘prominent’ UK Think Tank has deemed efficient vehicles damaging damaging to the governmental budget - blasphemy!

Researchers from the IFS (UK - Institute of Fiscal Studies), having received a formal request from the RAC (Royal Automobile Club) Foundation , have concluded that the move towards properly efficient cars will ‘blow a huge hole in the budget’.

The drop is indeed significant, from a monetary point of view (currently diesel and petrol taxes account for 1.7 of the GDP, with the percentage reportedly dropping to 1.1 around the year 2030 with the ‘green trend going). Furthermore, UK revenue from road tax would drop significantly from 0.4% to 0.1% of the GDP, around €16 (£13, $20) billion in losses for the government - maybe this way they’ll finally realize the redundancy of the army (any army) and stop funding.

Do not let yourself be fooled by government propaganda. Buy electric cars, live a green lifestyle and make the world a better place, and do so with complete disregard to the greedy oil-fueled governments that run our world.
