Gran Turismo 5 Delayed. Again and TBD

All you game freaks out there who were rubbing their hands as you awaited March to come and bring along with it the Gran Turismo 5, stop...rubbing. Both the Japan launch date, March 2010, and the US one, summer same year, have been scrapped...

Last year, Kazunori Yamauchi, the president of Polyphony Digital, the developer of the game for Sony Computer Entertainment, said the Playstation 3 version of the Gran Turismo 5 was to be expected at the aforementioned dates.

Today however, Sony stepped in and said the release window previously announced would not be met. Fortunately, Sony Europe announced the European release date was not affected by the delay. And that's quite funny, as no one really knows the European release dates... Because they haven't been announced!

“Some are theorizing that the title was never as close to release as Sony was suggesting, and the overly optimistic release targets were announced to combat the release of Forza Motorsport 3 for the Xbox 360,” Fudzilla says, contradicting Yamauchi, who was convinced the game was basically finished.

So, people, here we have it. Or not. So go back to your consoles and restart the December demo. A demo which, with its over 1 million users so far, point to the success the game will have, only if Sony and Polyphony would agree on the release date.

“We created the Time Trial purely as the mechanic to run the first phase of GT Academy 2010. The massive interest is testament to the strong GT Academy concept that offers the chance to make a dream come true,” Yamauchi said about the demo.
