General Motors Thailand celebrated the production of their one millionth vehicle - a white Chevrolet TrailBlazer SUV - at the Rayong Assembly plant.
To mark the occasion, GM CEO Mary Barra and company president Dan Ammann visited the facility to congratulate the team that builds vehicles for 77 different markets.
“Today’s milestone demonstrates why Thailand is so important to GM’s growth in Southeast Asia, and helps reinforce our commitment to continually strengthen our investment in this facility,” said Mary Barra.
“Everything starts with great products. Our plant in Rayong is an important member of GM’s regional and global manufacturing operation. It also is a key component of our consumer-centric and market-driven strategy for growing our product lineup and Chevrolet brand in the region,” Ammann added.
The Rayong Assembly Plant had record exports last year, when 44,000 vehicles were shipped to 77 countries.
