The real work of art behind it? The engine, of course. The series unit got torn appart and rebuilt again, with a new racing crankshaft, a titanium connecting rod, forged pistons and two racing turbo chargers.
Combined with aluminium induction pipe, carbon air box with sports air filter and a high-performance exhaust system, Gemballa squeezed the unit until it managed to develop 650 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 950 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm. An organized troop which allows the EVO-R to get to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and keep on going until it reaches 332 km/h (206 mph).
As for the visual side of the EVO-R, the former 911 boasts features like specially designed gullwing doors, new front headlights (sourced from the Carrera GT), custom-made bonnet and side skirts and an entirely redesigned front skirt. At the back (if you get to see it as it flies by), the EVO-R presents us with a rather appealing behind. It uses the LED tail-lights of the current generation Porsche 911, enhanced by the the new rear skirt. The integrated rear diffuser can either be selected with a varnish or in carbon fibre and offers space for the four end pipes of the sport exhaust system.
So, we have three key aspects here: Porsche 911, Gemballa and horses, lots of them as well. This translates into euros, lots of them. Some 350,000 to be more precise. This is the price set for the Avalanche by Gemballa, a price which, thankfully, includes the base vehicle.
