Toyota proved the new GT 86 sports coupe is up to all the mechanical challenges posed by the Nurburgring ADAC 24 Hours race, as not only did three of the four cars finish the race, but they also finished well.
After completing 129 laps, car number 166 finished first in the SP3 class, while the other car used by Gazoo racing, number 165, came third overall with 125 laps. What’s more, out of the hundred of competitors, the winning GT 86 came 46th overall

“Lexus were also celebrating a strong result, with the GAZOO Racing Lexus LFA taking 1st place in the high-performance SP8 class. After surviving a few minor incidents, and posting a quickest lap time of 8:44.636, the GAZOO Racing Lexus LFA ran reliably and consistently throughout the race, and 15th place in the overall standings,” Toyota also said.

Two more GT 86 race cars were used by a new team called ToyotaSwiss Racing GT86. One of their cars was force to retire after 11 laps of the race, while the other finished 1st in its class (V3).
