Nexstar Presents 7-Inch SNAP7 GPS Unit

Even if the world is full of GPS devices, large companies such as Nexstar continue to design new units that provide lots of more efficient features than the majority of products. The best example comes from the newly-launched SNAP7, a 7-inch navigation device that includes numerous advanced functions, starting with 2D and 3D maps and ending with touchscreen and SD card support.

The device is 0.7-inch thick, one of the thinnest on the market, but still features a 7-inch touchscreen display. Besides that, it includes two large stereo speakers, which come in handy when receiving the voice-guided directions pronounced by the navigation software. However, the MP3 support lets you use the speakers for streaming your favorite music while the display lets you browse your JPG-based photo gallery.

And speaking of MP3s and JPG images, in case you may need additional storage space, you can easily expand it using the SD card slot (note that the 2GB card slot included in the package is exclusively used by map software). The new GPS model comes with pre-installed Canada and United States maps, with full support for English, French and Spanish.

The night mode automatically adjust the brightness of the display should you use it at night, but remember that it will reduce the battery life by several minutes or even hours. Buying the whole package, which by the way costs $350, brings you an AC/DC adapter, a car adapter, an USB cable, a protection pouch, a suction cup and a stylus.

"With the addition of these two models, our slim SNAP navigation systems line offers displays for a wide-range of needs," commented Eddy Zheng, Nextar founder. "At just 0.7" thick with Nextar's advanced magnetic docking station, these new units fit in very narrow locations. Slim design, choice of screen size, complete coverage of two countries, and lots of terrific features make our SNAP lineup the perfect solution for the most discriminating buyer."
