BMW currently offers the i8 in only 4 colors, ranging from Ionic Silver to Crystal White, Protonic Blue and Sophisto Grey but there are other solutions out there, the easiest one to go to being car wrapping. That’s exactly what the guys from JDCustoms did.
We’ve seen the i8 in basically all the aforementioned colors before and even in matte black, that last one completely turning our world upside down. However, we’ve never seen a frozen yellow one before and right now, I’m confronted whether to turn my thumb up or down concerning the way it looks.
Maybe I’m just too used to the car being dressed in blue or grey and even white but something about it just doesn’t strike me as ‘wonderful’. Sure, it’s good looking but a car like the i8 will drop jaws everywhere just for its design, no matter the color on the outside.
The wheels are also not my cup of tea as they seem too flimsy for the plug-in hybrid sportscar that is iconic not only for BMW but the entire auto industry as well. Why?
Because it unites sportcar-like performance with a traditional internal combustion engine and an electric component showing us that having fun with a car that is eco-friendly doesn’t need all-electric motors only or sky-rocketing price tags.
Sure, at $136,000 in the US and €126,000 in Europe you can hardly call the i8 cheap but compared to other cars like the 918 Spyder or the McLaren P1 it’s a bargain.
Anyway, getting back to the car at hand here, what do you think of it? Does it get your thumbs up or not?
