Frankfurt Auto Show: Toyota iQ Sports

Next to the 2010 Prius Plug-In Hybrid and the Auris HSD Full Hybrid concept models, Toyota is also displaying a customized iQ show car, dubbed iQ Sports. In fact, the model is a rebadged Scion iQ Concept, which was also on display at the New York Auto Show in April.

In fact the only difference between the Scion iQ concept and the Toyota iQ Sports is the more aggressive look, thanks to the custom bodykit, new 18-inch rims and the trapezoidal exhaust.

The Japanese manufacturer did not release any technical details yet, but since it’s only about customizing the look of the iQ, it is most likely to resemble the Scion iQ Concept and come with the same 1.3-liter, four-cylinder VVT-i engine that develops 93 horsepower and 89 lb-ft of torque.

It boasts 18-inch wheels with a nickel finish and wide tires, as well as front air dam, aero headlamps and high-intensity LED driving lamps.

Interiors feature illuminated door handles, illuminated iQ logo on the passenger-side dash and nickel and raw aluminum interior panels. A 10-inch panel LCD screen provides access to navigation features and entertainment console. Furthermore, a multi-information display lets the driver browse through the odometer, the average speed, temperature and eco lamp.

Other feature highlights including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, nine airbags - rear window curtain airbag, driver and right passenger front airbags, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side airbag, side curtain airbag, driver knee airbag and front passenger seat cushion airbag.
