Ford WRC Team Reveal New YouTube Channel

The BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team confirmed the other day the launch of their brand new channel on YouTube. The fans will therefore have the chance to access exclusive video footage from the team, mostly focused on behind-the-scene activities, on www.youtube.com/fordwrc.

This channel is aimed at devoted rally fans, people who have a genuine passion for the sport and who will visit on a regular basis to view recently added footage,” said Gerard Quinn, Ford of Europe's motorsport chief, when making the announcement.

Our drivers and team members are involved in many activities that often remain unseen by fans. We want to make these available for everyone to view. The wider the range of content, the more enjoyable the team's YouTube channel will be for visitors,” added Quinn in the press release.

According to the World Rally Championship official site, the newly-launched channel will “include specially produced preview and post-event podcasts from each round of the WRC, which will be uploaded on the Friday morning of each rally and the Monday after each event respectively.”

BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team will therefore provide the WRC fans with only the second such channel on YouTube, as the first one was launched by WRC itself. One of its most popular shows presented on their channel is the World Rally Championship Show, “which boasts full-length highlights programmes from every rally from the 2001 to 2008 seasons.”

Fans will be able to access Ford's YouTube channel from as early as upcoming WRC event in Bulgaria, scheduled from July 9 through 11. Fans will also get the chance to keep up-to-date with the free iPhone app, iRally, through the channel, while also have access to Word Rally Radio (during the WRC events only). The channel already has 435 subscribers.
