Ford Recognized Top Suppliers Worldwide

Ford Motor Company recently held an event to recognize its top global suppliers, offering its highest recognition for suppliers around the globe, namely the World Excellence Award.

 The World Excellence Awards are offered to production and non-production suppliers that deliver outstanding performance in terms of cost, quality, technology and delivery, while following the Ford ONE business guideline and allowing Ford to deliver top products.

"We congratulate the supplier winners of the 2009 World Excellence Awards. Your commitment to pursuing the highest standards of excellence for technology, quality and cost distinguish your company as a valued member of the ONE Ford team. We are not able to reach our ONE Ford goal -- delivering profitable growth for all -- without your important contributions,” said Tony Brown, group vice president, Global Purchasing.

Suppliers play a critical role in the ONE Ford transformation. Thank you to all of our award winners for the support and commitment to helping Ford serve our customers worldwide with the very best cars and trucks,” said Alan Mulally, president and CEO.

The distinctions have three levels: Gold, Silver and Recognition of Achievement. The first two target suppliers that excel in quality and delivery.The Recognition of Achievement is received by suppliers who improve the level of customer satisfaction by making improvement in key areas: New Consumer-Focused Technology, Consumer-Driven 6-Sigma, Durability and Reliability Performance, Corporate Responsibility, Diversity and Community Service and Warranty Improvement.

A total of 13 Gold Awards, 27 Silver Awards and 11 Recognition of Achievement Awards were presented during this year’s edition of the event
