Ferrari to Use Red Bull-Like Exhausts

Ferrari announced from the early beginning of their 2011 winter testing that they will debut a dramatically improved aerodynamic package in the last test of the off-season, at Barcelona. And apparently, Italian magazine Autosprint had an exclusive first look at how the newly-named 150 Italia racer will look like this week.

According to the latest pictures published by the aforementioned publication – comprising overall views of the rear wing and bodywork – it seems that Ferrari have somehow copied Red Bull's exhaust system layout.

Last weekend, Ferrari have confirmed that Davide Rigon performed some aerodynamic tests at the wheel of the new 150 Italia on the Vairano circuit's straight in northern Italy. Apparently, the test was to show the evolution of the 2011-spec challenger prior to this week's Barcelona test, where Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa will get am early start for “filming purposes”.

Approximately two weeks before the official start of the 2011 F1 season, everybody seems to think that Ferrari and Red Bull – not necessarily in that order – will be the main contenders for the title this season. While some voices suggest that the Ferrari F150 Italia is still a full second short of matching the Red Bull RB7 on track, president Luca di Montezemolo begs to differ.

Pay no attention to the testing times,” said the Ferrari boss in a recent interview with the ANSA news agency. “Only two things are certain; we are very happy with our reliability as we are the team with the most mileage. And from the very night of the infamous missed kick without a goalkeeper in Abu Dhabi, I have seen a great desire for redemption. So I'm very confident.”
