Ferrari Presents the Di2 Racing Bike

We are under the effect of the Ferrari 599 GTO anesthetic, ever since the hypercar was launched on the Internet, on April 8. And we don’t think anyone could blame us, considering that the vehicle, with its 661 hp V12 powerplant, is the fastest street Ferrari in history.

However the autoevolution team’s doctor urged us to come to our senses and set ourselves some achievable targets, in order to maintain our mental health. So, we thought that there must be some affordable means of transportation that wears the prancing horse badge.

We were forced to get the engine factor out of the scheme and therefore started searching for some human powered contraption. Soon after that, we discovered the Ferrari Di2 racing cycle.

The “pedalistic” creation makes extensive use of (you guessed it) carbon fiber, using the material for its frame and for the hubs. The frame offers high rigidity thanks to the use of 3PRS strengthening technology. The bike rides on Racing Speed XLR wheels. Its gears are optimized through the use of a Dura Ace Di2 electronic group, which also keeps the chain tight and straightened. It also uses a high resistance ball bearings produced by Inox Cult.

Ferrari customizes each example of the Di2 racing cycle to suit every client’s taste and then delivers it to the owner in two months time.

We were quite unhappy with the waiting time, but we had to think positive so we prepared ourselves for ordering the first units of the bike. Then we realized that we had forgotten one little aspect: the price.

Ferrari charges $16,750 for every Di2, but will only build 50 units of the bike. Fernando Alonso already got a free one….NOOOO!
