If you lived in or near the desert, in a country where petrol is extremely cheap and off-roaders are plentiful, would you not try dune jumping? Of course you would, but you would never want to end up with your vehicle’s wheels facing up. Sadly for this dune jumper from Saudi Arabia, this is exactly what happened with his nose-heavy Toyota FJ Cruiser.
The driver reverses away from the dune he plans on using as a ramp, and when he deems the distance sufficient to pick up enough speed before the jump, he floors it. However, the heavy V6 engine up front drags the FJ Cruiser down, and it plants itself in the sand.
However, despite the fact that it rolls over onto its roof, and then back onto its wheels, the damage it sustained seems minimal. We would have expected the roof pillars to at least bend a little bit, but in actual fact, they didn`t, and we can therefor say the FJ is a surprisingly safe vehicle.
Also, considering the fact that nobody was hurt and the minimal extent of the damage (if any), we would almost go as far as to say that it was worth it...
