F1 In Worst Pay Driver Condition Ever - Pedro de la Rosa

Pedro de la Rosa will undoubtedly want to continue his racing career in Formula One, even though he hasn't had a return season to remember with BMW Sauber Ferrari. Ousted by Peter Sauber a few rounds before the end of the 2010 campaign, the Spaniard was left looking for a job and now admits that only some good financing – read that sponsorship money – could keep him on the active F1 roster in 2011.

Talking about the prospects of racing in the Great Circus next season, De la Rosa admitted that almost every spot still available in the 2011 roster will be offered in exchange of money.

What I know for sure is that if I had money I would 100 per cent be able to be racing. It's always been like that, but I would say next year is one of the worst I've ever seen in terms of how the teams are selling their race drives,” said De la Rosa in a recent interview with Autosport.

We will see, it's still early days and I'm not in a rush. Whatever I do, I want to do it properly. I don't want to be rushed into anything.

Recently, Hispania Racing F1 Team owner Jose Ramon Carabante said it quite clear that he wants to sign De la Rosa for the 2011 campaign, but in order for that to happen, the 39-year old racer “needs to contribute about (EUR) eight or ten million.” Talking about the prospect of joining the all-Spanish team next year, De la Rosa avoided to talk about money, but focus on the project itself.

If it's interesting (the project), I will go for it. Or if it's not, or I perceive it as not being, I will not waste my time. Whatever I do, I always do 100 per cent. I put a lot of passion into things. Whatever I do, I will do it with passion. And if I go to Hispania, I would want to feel the same,” said the Spaniard.
