EvoBus Iberica Produced the 10,000th Mercedes-Benz Bus Chassis

Daimler is celebrating a bus production milestone, as EvoBus Iberica, the Spanish subsidiary of EvoBus Gmbh which is part of the Group, has produced the 10,000 bus chassis in Samano, Spain.The celebratory chassis has been delivered to Sanfiz S.L., a bus operator that handles multiple segments of the transportation business, with EvoBus organizing a special handover ceremony.

The plant in Samano is equipped with the latest production control facilities and health and safety systems,” stated the press release.

EvoBus Iberica produces chassis for rural-service buses, urban buses, midicoaches and airport buses for the domestic Spanish market as well as for international market. Its top European export markets are Germany, France, Great Britain and Portugal. The chassis are also delivered to markets outside Europe, with the list including Australia, Israel, Mexico and Singapore.

The Mercedes-Benz modular chassis system offers the great advantage of flexible body solutions. Customers can choose from different body lengths and variants with regard to permissible gross vehicle weight, enabling them to configure a vehicle that perfectly meets their requirements. All Mercedes-Benz products feature the most modern technology. The engines of the latest generation are equipped with environmentally friendly BlueTec diesel technology, which guarantees compliance with the Euro 5 standard,” stated the press release.

Established in 1998, EvoBus Iberica operates a modern production plant and has a workforce of 262 employees. In 2003 the Samano plant, which has specialized in the production of chassis for urban buses and touring coaches, became a competence center for Mercedes-Benz chassis in Europe.
