After some teasing, Yamaha's new bike saw the light, proudly displaying the manufacturer's cruiser segment Star badge. Already tagged a 2014 bike, the Star Bolt is a middleweight street prowler, devoided of all that's not strictly necessary, and thus following the announced "less is more" slogan.
The Bolt is moved around by a 58 cubic inch (942cc) 6-degree v-twin engine, loaded with the latest injection systems available in Star's store, a perfect match for the modern design of the bike, LED lighting and digital instrumentation.

We totally like the modern design approach to the classic styling, and all the details which make the Bolt a bike in its own class. With more “spartan” shapes and a bit of edgy, tidier design, the Star Bolt is a successful first step towards the next generation of cruisers. It was high time somethings changed in this field, too and it looks like Star had the guts to do it, too.

Bolt comes with a belt final drive, wave rotors (price was probably the reason for only one in the front) and a 5-speed manual gearbox. Given the announced $7,990 MSRP (€5,990) and some more incentives which will surely be attached to the offer, the 2014 Star Bolt is a truly great option for a new bike, even as a first bike.

And thank you Star, for the awesome massive silencer: this is probably one of the best things about the Bolt!
