Edwards Wins in Vegas

All going as planned in the Sprint Cup, a renewed series for the current system, with an improved points system and, as the NASCAR top brass hopes, better marketing. Just as unpredictable as always though, the series continues to capture the hearts and minds of the American public.

The last event that took place over the weekend at the Kobalt Tools 400 race in Las Vegas ended with Carl Edwards taking the win right from under the wheels of Tony Stewart's Chevrolet. The win comes as a treat for the man who has been chased by bad luck in the first two races of the season.

This time, his luck changed and turned against Stewart who, because of a mistake of his pit crew, lost the win. Stewart, who led for most of the race, dragged an air wrench from his stall under caution on Lap 155 and got penalized, leaving the road clear for Edwards to take the win.

"We have been performing really well and it is just a joy to drive these racecars right now,"
said Edwards according to Autosport.

"You look at the way we qualified and ran, the Fords are back and are strong. It is due to the work of these two guys next to me and the guys back at the shop like Robbie Reiser. Everyone has worked really well together. It is great to drive these racecars.”

The Kobalt Tools 400 ended with Juan Montoya, Marcos Ambrose and Ryan Newman completing the top five. The series is now led by Tony Stewart, who is tied at 113 points by Kurt Busch.
