Ducati is now the 4th manufacturer to be appointed the "honored motorcycle of the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance event. Scheduled for March 8-10, the 2013 Amelia Concours d’Elegance is the 18th annual event to take place since 1996.
This show is always held at the Golf Club of Amelia Island at Summer Beach and The Ritz-Carlton in the second full weekend of March and brings around 300 rare and exclusive motorcycles from private collections.
Along the 18 years-long history, Amelia has only honored 3 bike manufacturers: Triumph, BMWS and Vincent, Ducati being the 4th. Among many other bikes,visitors will be able to admire the 1946 "Cucciolo", Ducati's first ever production motorcycle.
The 2013 Amelia Concours d’Elegance will sport both “strada” and “corse” bikes: that is street and racing models, respectively. So if you're around Jacksonville, FL March 8-10, you can drop by the Amelia bike show and learn a bit of Italian bike excellence history.
